In 1972, Sandie Jones sang the only song of the history of ESC with the lyrics in Irish. The name of the song was "Ceol An Ghrá" and it came 15th out of 18 with 72 points.

The band "Pepel in kri" represented Yugoslavia in 1975. They finished 13th out of 19 with 22 points.

Despite both Norway and Bulgaria finished with 45 points, Norway qualified over Bulgaria due to receive points from a greater amount of countries than Bulgaria. Norway received points from 11 countries, while Bulgaria only received points from 10 countries.

Samira Bensaïd performed "Bitaqat Hob" and finished 2nd to last.

Slovakia would debut on the following year (1994).

In 1971, 1981, 1988, 1994, 1995 and 1997 the Eurovision was hosted in Ireland's capital city.

In 2003 and 2008, Belgium's entries were sung in an Imaginary Language.
