Where did you get this information? New Jersey was one of the 13 original colonies. Maine and Vermont were not. And what about the Louisiana Purchase? Those were all parts of France. Florida was purchased from Spain. Oregon Territory (Oregon, Washington, Idaho and parts of Montana and Wyoming) was British. Do some research first.

maine was disputed half between UK and bottom half USA
