In his final season in the NBA, Wilt Chamberlain shot 72.7% from the field and averaged 18.6 rebounds per game. His final shot was a dunk.

In 1961–62, Wilt Chamberlain averaged 50.4 points and 25.7 rebounds per game. He also averaged 48.53 minutes per game, sitting out only 8 minutes all season. He did not win the MVP award that season.

Despite being a score-first big man early in his career, Wilt Chamberlain was able to change his game and lead the league in assists in 1967–1968. To date, he is the only center to lead the league in assists. Chamberlain likened this to Babe Ruth leading the league in sacrifice bunts.

Although official blocks and steals stats were not kept at the time, Wilt Chamberlain may have recorded a quintuple double on March 18, 1968. He had 53 points, 32 rebounds, 14 assists, 24 blocks, and 11 steals.
