Lakers Guard D'Angelo Russell wore the number 0 in college because he claimed that was how many people could guard him. Entering the league, the Lakers already had a number 0, Nick Young. Russell decided to play Young 1 on 1 for the number. The Lakers later would announce that Russell had chosen the number 1 for his jersey number.

Bulls star DeMar DeRozan had his home broken into in 2020, with the burglar breaking in through a window and cutting the power. DeMar chased after the burglar upon hearing his daughter screaming, and the robber was caught by the police. The man was actually looking for Kylie Jenner's house and broke into the wrong home, according to police.
