I'm sure that "Sagitta" is guessed more often than "Sagittarius" because people start typing in Sagittarius.. they get Sagitta.. and then they don't look to see which answer appeared and just assumed that they were given Sagittarius.
Exactly what happened for me. I forgot there was an arrow constellation, tried Sagittarius, got Sagitta, didn't try it a second time and missed Sagittarius :).
I have navigated across oceans using a sextant but I can still only manage about 60 odd. It is all good brain training ,spotting them with the naked eye isn't quite so easy.
2 more minutes and I would've got the last 11. Only needed Taurus (How'd I miss that one?) Perseus, Serpens, Triangulum, Piscis Austrinus, Vela, Telescopium, Sextans, Triangulum Australe, Tucana, and Volans. Also, if you play Destiny, try some of the Vex names... They're linked to the Romans/Latin and Roman mythos, like Minotaur, Goblin, Harpy, Gorgon, Hobgoblin, Etc.
got 33 (which beats 88%) but quite a few through guessing. I realised the zodiacs, and I knew some were anmals, so started guessing animals, as well as a few mythical creatures. I knew draco and centaur, so thought for the fun of it, lets try unicorn. It was right ! Also fun to see, when completely weird/unexpected shout outs are right. Like I tried whale and lizard (both right, never would ve thought so. Ah well, might aswell try chameleon, it was right too!!!)
Though the quiz is quite inconsistent, for some the english names are accepted, for others not, like fox (vulpecula) or horse (equuleus) And snake wasnt accepted for serpens.
(and i tried pigeon, not dove though, both translations for columba, wasnt accepted. While rabbit instead of hare WAS accepted).
Other than that, I did horribly. Great quiz though!
More astronomy please!
