Again, interesting quiz concept, even if the title doesn't match up perfectly. For instance I was thinking: what would people commonly type into google starting with Why is (country) so___... and came up with "expensive," "boring," rainy"... as common complaints of expats or tourists (or locals in the case of boring). But I don't think those places are really stereotyped to be that way it's just something that people would commonly search for. Racist works as a stereotype and I got that one. Some of these others are pretty difficult to come up with.
answer for Ukraine is another good example of this. For sure, Ukraine is not stereotyped as being "important"... but it's in the news right now so a lot of people are googling it to figure out what all the fuss is about.
racist, great, corrupt, suicidal, weak, secular, good at wrestling, atheist... I'd say those are all legitimate stereotypes. Big/small/Rich/poor not so much... people are just trying to learn something about history, geography or economics. Anyway, good quiz regardless.
Perhaps I should change the name of the quiz. It was originally "European countries according to autocomplete." I would say poor and rich are stereotypes though. I could use "prejudice" instead because that is pretty much what these are.
Not if they objectively are that way. Prejudice would by judging something before you have evidence to see if that judgment is valid. But asking why the economy in Spain isn't doing so well is not prejudice, it's not pre-judgement, it's judgment. Same with asking why Norway or Luxembourg is rich. People saw a list of all countries by GDP per capita, saw those were at the top, and then went to google to find out why.
