Nice quiz. A couple of things. André Previn was born in Berlin, Germany (not the USA). And Schumann's birthplace is Zwickau, not Zwikau.

Thank you! I will correct the spellng of Zwickau., a careless mistake.

One of my sources, Hinson's Guide to the Pianist's Repertoire, lists Previn as U.S., but I see that you are correct that he was born in Berlin. His family left when Andre was 10, and his musical career was established in the U.S. which is I'm sure why he is generally thought of as an American composer. I will change that hint.

Really appreciate getting feedback so quizzes are as accurate as possible.

Quite challenging, thanks for the quiz. One objection though: "rondo alla turCa", instead of turKa, although I would keep the latter spelling.

You are SO right! I had to laugh at myself because this is a piece I've performed many times (the whole sonata-enchilada), and i have taught the rondo to piano students.

I have kept the other spelling as acceptable.

Thanks for catching this

I could be wrong, but if you are referring to the act of striking the strings with the wooden part of the bow, as opposed to the hair, I would call that "col legno," with "col legno battuto" being the longer and less commonly used name. I could be wrong, though, and it very well could depend on your musical education background location-wise.
