All Nations to Ever be Represented in a Champions League Final

All of the nationalities of players that have made an appearance in a Champions League and/or a European Cup Final since the 1955-56 season to the 2022-23 season. The number is based on total appearances, not each player, so multiple appearances can be due to one player. Countries that do not exist anymore may be included. Good Luck!

I am very surprised to not see at least one person from USSR, East/West Germany, or Czechoslovakia on this list!

There were a bunch of West German players who did, and a couple of East German players as well, but they are grouped into Germany to make it easier. Also, the German FA groups the West German players and team with the current German National players and team, stating that they are the same team, just with a different title during that time, making the answer account for players who were/are West and East German and German. Former West and East German players are all grouped into Germany for simplicity's sake. Ex: In the 1987 European Cup final. Bayern Munich's sweeper, Norbert Nachtweih, was an East German international, Bayern's Lothar Matthaus was a West German international, and let's say Toni Kroos was magically in this team as well because Kroos a former German international. All three players count for the Germany answer in this quiz, even if it may be technically incorrect, that's how it is. As for the USSR, there were never any soviet players who appeared in a European final.

I don't think East Germany should be under Germany as it usually isn't on JetPunk. West Germany seems fine as is.

How in God's name did I forget France?!? I guess when you sweep over the whole of Europe you might drop a major country without realising it, thinking that you already guessed it.

Starting typing San Marino having a little chuckle to myself... O.O

So, I did some digging. The player in question is Massimo Bonini who played for Juventus in the 1985 European Cup final - the same final of the Heysel disaster. At the time of the final the San Marino national football team did not even exist and would not exist until 1990. So until this point Bonini had only ever played for Italy internationally, only ever accepting youth level (U21 call-ups). He maintained his San Marino citizenship and would make 19 appearances for the nation from 1990 onwards.

Sorry for the late response, but I'm glad you did your own research in regard to the San Marino answer. Massimo Bonini played in both the 1983 and the 1985 European Cup finals. However, he only counted as a representative of San Marino in the 1983 final against Hamburg, because he was not assigned to a national team during that time and was referred back to his nation of birth, San Marino. He officially stated that he was eligible to be in the Italian national team before the 1983 final. Because he was no longer eligible for the Italian U21 team, he was now a San Marino player, even though he did not have a national team, because San Marino was his place of birth, he was officially a San Maino player during the 1983 final, despite San Marino not having a national team, but not in the 1985 final, he was assigned to Italian eligibility during that time. This made it so that he played in two European Cup finals, but was a representative of two separate nations in those two finals. Weird.

I was very surprised to see Slovenia but not Slovakia, San Marino, and Trinidad and Tobago (the latter of which I missed).

I would suggest shortening "# of Times Represented" to "#" so there can be space for 3 blocks. At the moment, the list is quite long.
