Can you name the different anatomical parts of a taste bud when highlighted?
Note that whilst I generalised the taste receptors cells together, there are actually 5 different types that are mostly found in every taste bud! These include the salty, sweet, sour, bitter and umami receptor cells.
It is also a common myth that different parts of the tongue can taste things! Taste receptors are all over the tongue so we can taste all types of food wherever the taste receptors are!
