Their skin has a deep orange-red color, and its body shape looks similar to that of a sunfish (hence why it is also sometimes referred to as one).
Opah
Also called the Ide, this fish from Northern Europe and Asia served as an ornamental fish in outdoor ponds, which it often escaped from.
Orfe
This is the most common flatfish species raised in aquaculture in Korea, though its commercial production didn't grow to major scales until the 1990s.
Olive Flounder
They are intelligent enough to recognize a person as their owner, and can be trained to eat from their hand. This cichlid's name is also a masculine name of English and Irish origin.
Oscar
The largest known slime head species, with a maximum standard length of 75cm/30in and a maximum weight of 7kg/15lbs.
Orange Roughy
This fish has black and silver vertical stripes across its body, and its name comes from the sound it makes when caught, which it makes by grinding its teeth.
Oldwife
A breed of goldfish known for the bubble-like "hood" on its head, which is just a fleshy outgrowth on its upper head and sides of its face.
Oranda
A species of snow crab that was banned from commercial fishing in the Berring Sea in 2022, due to its sharp decline in population from eight billion to one billion within 2018-2021.
Opilio Crab
These birds are successful hunters that circle over shallow waters to locate fish, to which they dive into the water feet-first to catch them. This successfully works in a quarter or more of their dives.
