By my calculations, Vatican City should be on this list. About 850 population and about 0.65 km of railway gives about 1,300 people per kilometre.

True, however more than half of that "rail network" consist of Freight Rail Sidings (0.38 km total siding length), which wasn't counted here. So with the left rail length of 0.30 km, it's 2833 People per kilometre (Or 2564 taking a more up to date Population Number)
