I've never heard of a Down Spout- we usually call it a drainage pipe or a drain pipe
Our First Floor is your second floor (We go lobby/ground floor, first floor, second floor, etc. silly, right?)
We honestly use police and cops interchangeably- one's formal, one's not
We use excavator and digger, not really backhoe
We use bank account, not charge account (I didn't know what that was)
We use yard and garden interchangeably
I'm sure not all Americans use this terminology, but this is what Pacific Northwest would use (Portland, Seattle, LA, San Francisco...), and as most of the other terms I've never heard of before, I don't know how much they're used on the East Coast
Although I don't agree with all of the American words were, the British ones were interesting- I learned quite a few new ones :)
