As an American, a few suggestions:

Diaper

I've never heard of a Down Spout- we usually call it a drainage pipe or a drain pipe

Our First Floor is your second floor (We go lobby/ground floor, first floor, second floor, etc. silly, right?)

We honestly use police and cops interchangeably- one's formal, one's not

We use excavator and digger, not really backhoe

We use bank account, not charge account (I didn't know what that was)

We use yard and garden interchangeably

I'm sure not all Americans use this terminology, but this is what Pacific Northwest would use (Portland, Seattle, LA, San Francisco...), and as most of the other terms I've never heard of before, I don't know how much they're used on the East Coast

Although I don't agree with all of the American words were, the British ones were interesting- I learned quite a few new ones :)

I don't mean to discredit you, even though that's how I know I'm coming off
