Why the College Football Playoff needs to change

The current College Football Playoff is quite ridiculous considering only four teams out of130 get a chance to compete for a national championship. A team in a non-power 5 conference can go undefeated, yet still have little to none chance of getting into the College Football Playoff. Take Cincinnati this year as an example. The bearcats are 8-0 on the season, ranked 7th in the nation. Their strength of schedule slims in comparison to a team like Texas A&M, but Cincinnati has no opportunity to prove themselves, and it looks very unlikely that they will go to the college football playoff, or have a chance at a good bowl game, while a 5-0 Ohio State team, or a 1 loss Clemson or Notre Dame team is much more likely to get. Pending a #2 Notre Dame defeating #3 Clemson, #1Alabama defeating #6Florida, and #5 Texas A&M team to somehow lose to an unranked Tennessee team, #7 Cincinnati will not go to the college football playoff. At this point you are probably thinking "Cincinnati hasn't played anyone, any team ahead of them would dominate them!" If you are so confident about that, why don't we give it a shot. What if I proposed an 8 team college football playoff. If the current rankings hold, this is how it would go:
#1 Alabama vs #8 Georgia
#2 Notre Dame vs #7 Cincinnati
#3 Clemson vs #6 Florida
#4 Ohio State vs #5 Texas A&M
Think Notre Dame is over-ranked? Do you believe in Kellen Mond and Texas A&M? Is Cincinnati that good? All of these questions would be answered with just the slightest of alterations to the College Football Playoff. Lastly, you might as "Why eight teams, what about 16 or 32?" If we were to change it that significantly, the regular season would mean a lot less. For example, a 6-3 North Carolina team would get into the playoffs in this situation, which wouldn't be fair to a 8-0 like Alabama. Eight teams accounts for the regular season, along with expanding the playoff for more opportunity's for other teams. Let's change it!
