Geography Snap Statistics (January 2024)

+3

As many of you know by now, there is a leaderboard in every game mode of Geography Snap. More precisely, the 5 fastest players per day, per week and since the beginning of Geography Snap (not really, more like since 26th October 2020). Well, the player Changedaworld invented a points system according to the rank of a player in the All-Time leaderboard. Here it is :

1st place : 7 points

2nd place : 5 points

3rd place : 3 points

4th place : 2 points

5th place : 1 point

So, here is a leaderboard for January 2024 :

There is one new player : yawnofthedead.

The player who's the 1st in the most categories is... SilverDog, being first in 25 game modes.

The player who's the 2nd in the most categories is... Changedaworld, being second in 20 game modes.

The player who's the 3rd in the most categories is... Dagod, being third in 30 game modes.

The player who's the 4th in the most categories is...  Dagod, both being fourth in 9 game modes.

The player who's the 5th in the most categories is... Sammyboi, being fifth in 10 game modes.

Now, here is the top-5 of the players who are on the most All-Time top-5s :

Rank Player Number of All-Time top-5s
1st Changedaworld 45
SilverDog 45
2nd Dagod 39
3rd Batman23 17
Sammyboi 17
4th pappus1232 8
tamara 8
5th BI 7

Out of all 225 All-Time top-5s times, 12 were improved, including 1 World Record !

If we add every time in every All-Time top 5, we get to... 2135,0 seconds, or 35 minutes and 35,0 seconds. That's 7,2 seconds that were cut off during January. And if we only take the time of the 1st in every All-Time, we get to 315.5 seconds, or 5 minutes and 15.5 seconds. That's 0,4 seconds that were cut off during January !

In conclusion, this month was quite good ! Nothing extraordinary, yet some top-5s times got improved. If only it could keep up like that for the following months...

Great Blog! Pretty much everyone did flags and regular countries. The other ones don't have as much plays.

I grinded one mode for 2 hours, but I didn't even come close to beating any of you. I have no idea how you manage to get it that fast, at this point I'm pretty sure you are running some sort of auto clicker AI that picks the right answers for you

Well, first it depends on what game mode you're playing. If you're playing Countries and Flags Easy for example, don't be surprised if you can't beat the WR in 2 hours. This game mode is among the most played, therefore even being on the All-Time top-5 can be challenging. If you really want to have your name on an All-Time leaderboard, I would suggest you to play a "new" game mode (any game mode that includes either Flag-Shapes or Biggest Cities in it's categories), since these game mode's top-5s are far less improved than any other "old" game mode, since the new game modes were added 2 years after the game was created.

Also, the device you're playing on matters too. If you spent your 2 hours playing with a mouse, then you're just making the game more challenging. I'd strongly recommend you to play on a tactile device, like a tablet or a just a phone, but I would prefer a phone nonetheless since it's smaller, therefore less time is spent moving fingers across the screen to match tiles.
