Rio: I might just catch up to São Paulo in 1980…
The growth of São Paulo had a big evolution in the 30s. Rio was the most populous city of Brazil on that time. On the 50s, the Paulistas was thousands below the Cariocas, and finally on the 60s, when the capital moved from Rio to Brasília, São Paulo became the most populous city of the country :)
