Calling it a battle is a curious example for the motto "make love, not war"

They're going to regret "winning" this war as soon as the aquifers start drying up.

I don't think either nation wants to "win" here, kal.

This map would be even more interesting if it went back a few centuries.

I don't believe this graph. This seems like another example of "experts" predicting that whatever is happening will keep happening. It seems that India can't sustain a population that large, and something will change to prevent it from growing that rapidly that far in the future. Predicting demographic trends in 2050 seems pretty hard.

Yup, you are correct. Fertility rates of India is low. The problem is every state of India has a fertility rate of 2 or below except Bihar which has 5. Bihar is a problem indeed & not being a racist but Biharis are also a problem. Not to mention, several Natural calamities & Climate change will effect our population. A lot of cities like Mumbai, Kochi, Kolkata, Chennai will not exist anymore unless we develop an way to survive underwater which I guess we can't. Being an Indian by birth and living in and only in India since birth, I don't have any wish to marry & have children really. Though, not to mention I'm an exceptional case & most teenagers like me are very excited to have their first sex. But, India is educated & we do use condoms except for Bihar which is not and hence the fertility rates. Being a neighbor of Bihar, since Bihar is poor & so is Biharis, they tend to go to other states like Bengal and Maharashtra and spoil it and hence increase the population of India as a whole

The worst case scenario for sea level rise is 1 meter by 2100. This chart ends in 2050. We are destroying the ice caps, but the Earth is large and it takes a long time.

@Froststar101, these projections will probably be pretty accurate barring a nuclear war. The average age of India is 28.4. Figure that 70% of the current population of India is under the age of 40 and will still be alive in 2050 when this graph ends.
