Regarding #437, you won't actually find dry ice on the surface of Antarctica. There isn't enough carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to form noticeable quantities.

Yep. You can mark your comments "sticky" on your own quizzes (or in QM's case, the Interesting Facts, Interesting Quotes, JetPunk Change Log, and Nominated Quizzes) and then your comment will always be on the top.

Lol at Lyre birds' natural environment also being home to cameras, car alarms and chainsaws. Did they evolve in electrical appliance and hardware stores?

Evolution happens when a useful mutation occurs. Why would mimicing things be a useful mutation?

to communicate with each other, generally speaking they would mimic the sounds of the other birds in their group that are meant to be signals for things like danger and food etc.

The car alarms and chainsaws are just a result of humans being in their environment.

The southern tip of Greenland goes slightly further south than Iceland, and same for its easternmost tip. This is easiest to see on a Mercator map.

I thought it meant you could start in Iceland go east and end in Greenland (without going the whole way around).

like how New York (state) is nort, south, east, and west of Stamford, Connecticut.

Not very unusual as Lesotho is entirely surrounded by South Africa, you could say the same with the Vatican / Italy or any place that is entirely surrounded.

In Russia, stop signs are small, white, rectangular, and nondescript. Which is an extremely bad design for something that is important to see. Almost the entire rest of the world copies the American red octagons, even though they may use local words or scripts for the lettering, even countries like China and Iran, but I think the Russians want to be contrarian.

Japanese signs are usually an inverted triangle. But they are also red.
