Guy Fawkes night is not a holiday in the UK. It's a celebration of the failure of the Gunpowder Plot.

Changed "holiday" to "festivity".

Could you also accept "Bonfire Night", as many are more likely refer to the celebration this way rather that the full "Guy Fawkes' Night".

I actually needed a couple of seconds to get it. My first thought went to Google Maps / Google Earth, but in infrared.

Took me way longer than it should have to get... I was thinking, yeah, those Google Glass doohickey things... Uh, erm Infrared? Hmm.. For a good 40 seconds, for shame.

The second Shakespeare night filled in first so I glanced right over it, never getting the actual "first" night, which was actually the 12th.

Does a "stag night" not work as an answer? Is that for bachelors and not bachelorettes?

Given that stags are male and hens are female, that would be a good guess...

I can't imagine a stag trying to mate with a hen, can you?

I guess you d have to use mare. But mare night would probably be turned into night-mare by people trying to be funny. (Btw using cock as opposite for hen wouldnt work all too great either hah

The female counterpart of a stag is a hind, but calling it a hind party doesn't work so well either, so best leave it as it is.

I've never heard of an earthworm being called a nightcrawler. Is that an American thing?

It's definitely done in the US, though "nightcrawler" usually refers to especially big and fat earthworms, the kind often used as fishing bait.

I don't think they are only in the US but the ones we have in my area can be HUGE - some of them they look like small snakes to me.

I was recently at the Rijksmuseum. The Night Watch is huge! Definitely opposite the reaction I had at the Louvre with Mona Lisa.

Couldn't think of "Arabian Nights" as it is actually called "One Thousand and One Nights" in English and in many many other languages, including the original.
