Well, Wakefield Metropolitan District might have more than 300,000 inhabitants but I very much doubt that the City of Wakefield has a third of that number.

The 'City of Wakefield' is the same as the metropolitan district. (Blame the government). So the actual settlement 'Wakefield', doesn't really have any definitive identity. For further district=city weirdness see also: Carlisle, Leeds, Sheffield, Bradford. On the other hand for some places the district seems smaller than the settlement: Nottingham, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool etc.

Wakefield is way smaller. It doesn't even have a decent football team so that should rule it out from being a city anyway

Most of the other cities named don't have a decent football team either... ;-)

I would love to remove Wakefield, but the government says its a city and that the population of the city is 325,837. So tell the government to fix it, not me!

I disagree with inclusion of London. The county of Greater London, whose population you show, is NOT a city. The true City of London (the area around St. Paul's Cathedral & Bank of England) has a population of only about 7,000, and is not a part of the county. However, the county DOES include the City of Westminster, but that certainly does not make the top 20 list. So please revise.

Haha. This quiz used to not have London on it. The complaints were many and vociferous, and the quiz had one of the lowest ratings on the site.
