One country missing and 3 minutes left when I first time realized there is an alphabetized list. Ok, plenty of time yet.. Got the three F countries already, and Ethiopia so the one missing comes after that. Also, I realized the one missing is probably in Oceania.
So, I spent the remaining time baffled....... FEDERATED STATES OF Micronesia. Geeeeeez! Why is it not under the letter M? I might have some chance to find it WITHOUT the alphabelized list....
Does anyone else try to fill in countries that have a land border with one you already have typed in. I do and i think it looks cool and makes it a little more challenging. (Islands I fill in with associated land country, e.g Malta with Italy)
I got it on my first try! (Darn you, Oceania) What was interesting for me is how much harder Africa was to complete than usual—usually I can get all the countries without a hitch as long as I put in all the islands first, but without their outlines it's a lot more difficult for some reason...
8:12 remaining. New record for me. Darn Gambia! One that I frequently forget. Otherwise, could've maybe done it with 8:20 left or better. Lots of fun though and more challenging than having the map to fill in.
Have completed this numerous times working my way 'across the map', so decided to try it in alphabetical order instead..........It is gonna take a bit of practice to get it down to the 15 min time but I am determined......
You have to type both of them for just about every geography game I've done. Even though they're one country now, people still like to keep them separate, though it might be a update quizmaster thinks is worth it. Hopefully it will be changed.
But how come I have more countries than average, and it still says my score beats or equals 37.6 percent of all people?
That's why we stick around on this site. Come to think of it... I think today might be my one year and a day anniversary... or isnt that untill next week... (minus a month and a half due to health issues, I ve been on every day since the first day)
Disappointed to have spent 15 minutes racking my brains, coming up with 148 countries and only got 2 points?? Neither generous nor encouraging when you come on for a bit of fun and to relax...
I think if you want to relax this isnt really the quiz to take, if relax equals a casual pace for you that is. For me it ís relaxing but in a non relaxed manner, I am relaxing cause i am entertained and my mind is taken of things and being trained, but no not chilling or lounging type of relaxing.
Worked all the way from missing 22 countries to 3 countries then to 12 seconds remaining to 1:20 to 3:40 to 5:50 and now to 6:20. Will try to better it further.
That seemed to happen to me too. I think it started "zoomed in", so I had to click on the map again to zoom it out again. I am pretty sure I didn't accidentally zoom in myself.
First try 100%. Slightly more difficult than the map one but it is a nice idea that’s really fun to do. 5 stars. (Can’t believe my last one was Somalia
Got 169... I'm both still disappointed and very proud of myself because I'm forgetting less and less countries in areas i don't know. I still have work, but I'm getting there !
Really unfortunate that S~ao Tome comes after Syria in the list because of the diacritical mark; makes it impossible to remember if you've forgotten it.
New record for me! 8:49 left. Beat the old mark by 2 seconds. Crazy thing, my two fastest times are with an empty map. Map provided best time is 8:39 left.
I made a quiz that was based off of this quiz, and it uses the same map, and somebody on that quiz said that there were some problems with the countries in the Caribbean, just to let you know https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/298109/can-you-name-these-50-random-countries
Well I would guess people do it more by memory on this one and more visual on the other one. If you only concentrate on what you can see, it is easy to forget about the tiny islands.
I wonder what order people go in. I start with Canada and work my way down the Americas, inputting the smaller Suriname and Guyana last in South America. Then move to Europe, then Asia, then Africa, and then Oceania.
I usually try to do all of the tiny countries, island countries, and African countries first. Those are the ones I most commonly forget, things like Sri Lanka, Eritrea, or Grenada, for example.
African islands, Pacific islands and the Caribbean are my usual stumbling blocks. Hopefully I will crack it soon. I thought I might never get the World Map with 20 random countries missing, but it finally fell two days ago.
For whatever reason, I simply am not able to get 100% on this quiz, its beyond frustrating lol. I can do all 196 with a map just fine, I know the flags and capitals too. But this quiz man. I've tried it at least 20 times and EVERY SINGLE TIME I just cannot remember the last one or two countries I'm missing. And it's always a different couple countries that I forget.
I have exactly the same problem, I don't understand. Always different ones. I just can't do better than 7 minutes. Often the problem is Taiwan, Madagascar, Baltic states, the Caucasus or even the whole of Scandinavia lol
6:10 remaining... Not my fastest, but the first time that I complete it in one straight line (without having to check what I forgot at the end, which I usually do)
This is, by far, my favorite quiz on Jetpunk. I use it as a warm-up for my daily quizzes. I don't even care about the time remaining as much as just getting every country. Grazie mille, relessness!!!
Mozambique, because its letters are really spread out over the keyboard. In contrast, the easiest and fastest to spell on a keyboard are my country Pakistan, Nigeria and Indonesia.
It didn't gain independence. Though it is kind of sovereign, it's still under New Zealand. Also, only 3 countries (France, Israel, New Zealand) recongnise it and it is not a member of UN.
1 missed... Turkey!!! I'm wondering how of all countries I could miss such an integral part of asia/europe! Didn't realise there was an alphabetical list underneath which would've helped hehe
After a long time, I managed to memorize all the countries, including the small ones and islands, it was about to be my first time to do 196/196 and I forget vietnam and albania. I sit here thinking "What island did I miss?" and they happen to be one of the easiest ones.
this isn't as hard that it actually seems. Sometimes, when you have a map, it is easier if you don't have a map, since that won't stress you out. However, it is easier to forget small countries and some islands.
Try to solve this writing one country for each continent. You can’t write another country of the same continent without write a country from each other continentes, and again. For example: canada, portugal, japan, palau, egypt, venezuela, ......
I swear, after doing them all with a map, I do this one and forget very obvious ones, like the Baltic States, Scandinavia, Madagascar or Philippines. Crazy.
I got my 196 (and badge) ages ago but I still come back periodically to do the quiz again as mental exercise. I’m back again and I got 192/196 so a bit more work before I move on.
I mean, I got them with 6:35 remaining, without even stopping to think, cause I have them in my muscle memory, so I guess I'm a slow typer, cause I have no idea how some people got it in about 4 minutes.
One day I will get all of the nations. I get all of them most of the time but just now I got 195/196 because I forgot Jamaica. I knew there were 23 NA nations not 22.
I just couldnt figure it out
So, I spent the remaining time baffled....... FEDERATED STATES OF Micronesia. Geeeeeez! Why is it not under the letter M? I might have some chance to find it WITHOUT the alphabelized list....
LOVE THIS QUIZ! <3
Maybe you'll like it!
*Insert air horn noise here*
4:48 left
I missed nauru
Take Iraq in Spanish for example...it's Irak, not Iraq. A Spanish speaking person could easily miss Iraq here.
But lime green?
But how come I have more countries than average, and it still says my score beats or equals 37.6 percent of all people?
( I'm not english ! )
paused for like 3 minutes on east timor lol
but simply couldn't get portugal ?!
African islands, Pacific islands and the Caribbean are my usual stumbling blocks. Hopefully I will crack it soon. I thought I might never get the World Map with 20 random countries missing, but it finally fell two days ago.
And my lowest answer in now at 67% !
(I'm a tiny bit proud of myself, yes)
To me, it's Liechtenstein (I just copy-pasted it here, lol)
Forgot Moldova. I was going through Europe quickly..
I wish I had that many :[
