I didn't recognize Edward Norton, and couldn't remember Ed Harris' name for the life of me. Sorry, Eds!

I couldn't remember Ed Harris' name either! Then again I usually can't, I just refer to him as "the guy from 'The Truman Show' and 'Man on a Ledge'."

I remember him always by thinking of the other (Richard) Harris first, and then just changing the first name. Of course, first names aren't really required here.

I almost didn't recognize Harris - I remember him from The Right Stuff and Apollo 13 and he was much older in this photo. Same with Viggo - he didn't look like Strider in this one.

27% for Geoffrey Rush?! Even with all the people that have seen the Pirates movies?! I'm shocked. And if any LOTR fans missed Ian McKellen, shame shame :P

I almost missed McKellen and I'm a huge LOTR fan. This picture makes him look like a cross between Coach Phil Jackson and Geraldo Rivera.

I first saw Harris as John Glenn in The Right Stuff, but this wasn't a good photo of him. I first saw Duvall as Boo Radley in To Kill a Mockingbird, and then as Frank Burns in the movie version of MASH. I also really liked him in the TV mini-series, Lonesome Dove.

Crying Game, Last King of Scotland. He's gripping in both. Strange that you say that. I think he only improves any movie he's in.

He has range too. Unlike a lot of famous actors, he can play different types of characters AND do it well.

I haven't seen "The Last King of Scotland", but I tend to agree with Oz. I thought he was terrible in the movies I have seen him in (Black Panther, The Butler, Phonebooth).

I blanked on Fishburne's name. Had to google "Cowboy Curtis" to get it, and then felt really stupid. 1. for forgetting his name, 2. knowing he was on Pee-wee's Playhouse.

Oh, you type in first names? It's quicker if you only use last names. But then, you wouldn't have gotten Jude Law. I didn't either. He has sort of bland features - I probably wouldn't recognize him if I saw a dozen of his movies. I'd probably say, "Oh, it's that guy I can never remember..."

I usually type in last names only, but sometimes when I'm on a roll I type the first thing that comes into my head, and in this case it turned out well. (I also find that sometimes I can remember the first name but not the last, and typing in the first name triggers my memory.)

I agree that he's a great actor and underappreciated, but I think his lower percentage is a result of him not being a typical "leading man" and thus almost always in supporting roles. Most everyone would recognize him but might not know his name.

Alternate type-ins have to be added manually, so it all comes down to what the quiz-maker decides (or remembers) to add in. McKellan has been made an acceptable type-in since your comment, though.

Maybe it's just me, but I think this would have been easier if the photos hadn't been quite so close-up. Cutting off ears and hair for some changed their looks. But I still loved the quiz. This is why I hate alternate spellings being accepted, rather than people just learning how to spell the answer - particularly in quizzes where it's not down to American vs ROW, etc. These are proper nouns with no alternates, but people's 'need' to have Fishburn and Duval accepted throws off my next answers. In a quizz on NAMES with FIXED spellings, this is the building of an idiocracy.
