Category Elimination - Capital Cities #2
In each group, name any answer which matches the first category to reveal the second category, then name any answer which applies to both categories to reveal a third, and so on.
Thanks! I was going to fix it, but I've actually just removed that clue entirely, since it's highly dependable on what population figures you look at. I think the new clues work better. The final answer for Blue is unchanged though.
Small objection to equating the International Date Line with 180º. The antimeridian runs for 12,440 miles from north to south pole, the IDL is ~41% longer, at somewhere north of 17,600 miles long, and crosses the Equator three times.
That's my fault, I've always known the IDL to be the 180⁰ line but never bothered to check whether that was actually the case. Thanks for the knowledge! :)
By chance, "La Paz" was the first answer I input for the yellow category. Filled that section out by just writing "La Paz" 4 more times in a row. Unexpected, but weirdly satisfying!
Always surprising how hard these are, surprised myself that i got all four first try (which I haven't gotten on any of these before). I think the best part is when you think you've got the final answer, type it in, then it doesn't accept it and you realise you've forgotten a clue. Always more thinking to be done
Great series Stewart, but it seems that there are quite a lot of questions based upon elevation. Personally, I don't know much about the elevations of capitals, so I am often tripped up on these clues!
Oh I see what you mean. "The capital region" in Finland has a population of 1,2 million (probably more today) and it consists of four cities: Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen, but the capital city of Finland, Helsinki has a population of 660k.
(Spoiler alert) Didn't come up with the answer to the purple category since I didn't think that a capital of a small country on the coast could have such a high elevation. But it does, being located in the central highlands of the country.
I wann try doing category elemination in my native language, but idk how to do revealing next question after quiz taker answers the first one. Can you teach me, please?
In Step 4 of the quiz editor, you need to be in Manual Design Mode. After this, you can then select an Answer or Hint cell, then in the "Edit Cell Options" box at the top is a "Hide Cell" button. This button allows you to hide the selected cell until any of the selected answers have been guessed.
Great quiz.
