Why is there this need to assign a country to a continent when it is not part of one? I think it would be more accurate to describe these as non-continental countries.
To Gerry928: Beats me! Especially when they are haphazardly and erroneously assigned to a continent or area. (e.g., Trinidad, the ABC islands, Barbados, Madagascar...)
They didn't do that when I was in school in the Dark Ages. Now some argue for geographic inclusion because of plates or whatever, while others argue for a different placement because of culture or politics. Don't worry, at some point it will all change again.
maybe for some countries, but these are clearly african countries, they are in the the african sphere. Hawaii for example i dont think is a part of any continent
Seriously, why being so aggressive? They were just demonstrating their view about how important the islands of Equatorial Guinea are without even mention it should be the answer. Why bother?
This comment section about islands is the most upset I’ve seen people since the whole “Cote D’Ivoire is still called Ivory Coast, but Swaziland is now Eswatini” thing, which was literally over five years ago at the time of posting this comment.
Got Comoros in the end though
