Great quiz. Maybe accept FDR and MLK. I would accept William I or simply William, maybe put a period after King Jr. It's Zimmermann with 2 'N'. And I know I'm REALLY nitpicking here but technically it's Nineteen Eighty-Four. Still a great quiz though, super easy for history buffs like us, keep up the good work!
Despite the fact that it's in the quiz title, I absolutely failed to notice the answers were alphabetical until I got a few before the end. I'm special.
Accept "Magalhães" for Magellan please? Even though I am not Portuguese, it's hard to remember the English name when we learned him as Magalhaes in school.
Looks like a few folks are in that same boat. Curious where that version of the name is used. Is it the Spanish speaking world or are there other locales too?
The quiz description says few will get U, X, or Y. Y is not hard. There are lots of people obsessed with WW2 history out there. And... you can see he's guessed more than Z, Q, or I. (I did miss U and X, though)
I'm not obsessed with WWII but I'm old enough to remember my parents and grandparents discussing it. Yamamoto, Tojo, and Hirohito are all names which were imprinted in my brain at a young age.
Same, I'm not particularly obsessed with WW2 but Yamamoto is relatively famous/important, especially considering he orchestrated Pearl Harbor. Arguably more famous than I or Q (I only got the later based off the "city" clue).
WWII started in 1939. Winston Churchill was Prime Minister of the UK from 1940-1945. Exactly how many people would guess the Appeaser over him in the question: British Prime Minister during WWII"???
I was stuck on Y because for some reason I read 'animal' instead of 'admiral' and although I don't know which of these even live in Japan, I just guessed a bunch of Y animals before I gave up.
