The use of "poor" to describe the level of GDP is wrong. It should be changed instead to "smaller", as it refers to the size of the economy, not to a country's wealth. Egypt and Poland for example have higher GDP than Greece and Portugal but on average most Egyptians and Poles are poorer than most Greeks and Portuguese.
Technically, the United Kingdom borders Spain as of Countries by Borders in 90 seconds, so Portugal would be the 5th most populous country which borders only one other country.
Somehow got it in my head that only European countries were acceptable. Got all except the Portuguese speakers question before I realized that other continents were fair game, too...
