I like the quiz. Only got 39 out of 52 though. Andy Murray is definitely on his way to cementing his name in tennis history. Two grandslams so far and counting
Well 6, Courier, Kafelnikiov, Kuertens, Moya, Ferrero and Agassi. Gomez is a former doubles no 1 and a two time doubles GS winner.
Courier, Kuertens, Agassi, Kafelnikof and Bruguera are all multiple GS winners, the later being the only player to hold a winning record over both Sampras and Federer. Pretty plucky, these ‘amateurs’ eh?
Take your point, but many of the greats fail on a clay surface and conversely many of the clay court specialists are only average on all other surfaces so there are a lot of unfamiliar names for the French Open.
It shouldn't take away from the French Open winners achievements though. The greats were at the tournaments, they just couldn't beat the clay court specialists. Some notable exceptions of course.
We finally added a new one! All it took was for Federer to get knee surgery, Rafa to withdraw because of Covid worries, and for Djokovic to hit a lineswomen in the neck with a ball.
French Open starts soon, not cancelled. But I think you could put Nadal in that place as I think his Covid worries were more like, why go to the US Open and leave no time to prepare for the clay?
I think next year there will be Zverev in one of them (Most likely US Open or Australian Open), but let's see! Old season is just over and I'm already looking forward to the next one :)
They used to play it in december, but decided to move the tournament back to january. So they skipped the 1986 tournament to play the following month, after winter break.

win some grand slams?
The stats get reset every time the quiz is updated, so better to do it at the end of the year, rather than four times a year after each tournament.
