Not exactly. In this case the Dog is referring to the word Africa in South Africa, not Africa as in the continent. But still, itβs like accepting Timor for East Timor or Dakota for North and South Dakota.
If you weren't an English speaker then you couldn't have written that comment let alone finished the quiz. I presume you mean English isn't your first language?
I have a question: when making a quiz how do you put pictures in it as hints? I can only do text and I have some great ideas for picture quizzes... Please help!
I'm pretty happy with myself......20/20 with 3:02 remaining, and I'm only eleven. Pretty happy. Can't imagine how simple it must be for others of a higher skill level. Still a wonderfully great quiz, though!!!! Enjoyed going through it, gave me an opportunity to test what I know.
Just as a heads up, the flag you have portrayed as "Ireland" is actually specific to the Republic of Ireland, not just Ireland in general. Northern Ireland has it's own flag too...
The Republic of Ireland (Eire) is generally known as Ireland. Northern Ireland is one of the countries making up the United Kingdom and is always known as 'Northern Ireland'.
The only official flag of Northern Ireland is the Union Jack, alhough you can see both the Ulster Banner and Saint Patrick's Saltire being used to represent Northern Ireland for different events. It's not a country either, since the UK consists of three countries and one province, which is Northern Ireland, so even if you went for the UK definition of a country it wouldn't make the cut.
Actually the correct name of Ireland is ... Ireland! "The Republic of Ireland" is a descriptive name which is used to distinguish it from Northern Ireland, but it is not the official name of the country. However, (for the same distinguishing reason) it is the official name of the national football team.
This guy sounds nearly as silly as all the doofuses out there the past few years insisting that it's wrong for Americans to refer to themselves as Americans.
AKA 20 of the most recognizable flags in the world -- yet I couldn't get one. I kept saying 'I've seen that flag at the Olympics many times; which former Soviet republic is it?' Answer: Russia. That's what I get for growing up being used to that USSR flag.
Easy, got them all right on my first try; however "New Zealand" should be accepted as well as Australia (they share almost the same flag, but not quite, and it is hard to analyze the flag completely in the amount of time given).
Crap! I keep trying to do this quiz, and see many familiar flags but just can't get them! The answer was at the tip of my tongue, but I just couldn't guess them. I only got 12. Below average :(
Think you know the countries like the back of your hand? Try seeing if you can list them in reverse alphabetical order with my new quiz, Countries of the World Z-A: https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/284204/countries-of-the-world-z-a
Got all but Netherlands. The Netherlands and Iran gave me some trouble, but I figured out Iran. However, just couldn't remember the Netherlands. Seems like others ran into a similar dilemma, with them being the 2 least guessed.
Africa is a CONTINENT
Or this
