No it's not a country, but it is distinguished from china enough that you have to show a passport to travel between them. A little further down the lis on the wiki page is Bermuda, which is a crown possession of the UK. Don't know what the passport status is there. But most importantly, I clarified in the instructions that there is one territorial possession.

I've got Hong Kong because of that instruction. In addition, everyone I met who come from Hong Kong always say that they are from Hong Kong, not China.

Liberia? I know they let a bunch of freed slaves go there after slavery was abolished in the U.S. but wouldn't all those people be dead by now and their descendants all be considered Liberians and not Americans?
