This turned out to be a very interesting quiz! I was kind of wondering whether Telescope Peak in Death Valley National Park might qualify, but after looking into it I think you were probably right to exclude it.

I actually really wanted to include death valley, but I couldn't be fully convinced that the summit was above treeline. There are trees just meters from the summit.
