The densities in the first column are off by a factor of one million. (Maxwell Smart: "Missed it by *that* much.")

Came to say the same. If the area of Costa Rica is 51,100 km2 it would have around 161 million airports :) Even divided by a million that seems high. A quick search reveals around 40, not 161. Curious about the source.
