Triband Flags

For some reason I've never considered the tri-banded nature of so many flags, I know France, Ireland, Italy, Germany etc are of course, but as soon as any extra detail is added like coats of arms, stars, crosses and such I seem to forget that it's still a triband flag. The most shocking one to me was Canada, whose flag is just as iconic as the Union Jack or Star Spangled Banner and yet I've never thought of it as a tri-band flag (though it most definitely is!)
