Tiles With Dialogue.
Jerome waltzed into his house.
He was upbeat and cheerful.
“I got an A+ on my math test!” Jerome exclaimed.
His mother was ecstatic.
“Your grades are finally going up! I'm so proud!”
“How did you do it though? You're never studying when I see you.”
Jerome knew exactly how to answer.
“Well, I've been taking after school classes.”
Jerome’s mother didn't know how to respond.
“Remember all those times I said I was going to be at a friends?”
His mother remembered.
“Well, I was actually at school studying.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?” She asked.
“I wanted to surprise you.”
Jerome’s mother was certainly surprised.
Jerome’s grades continued to get better, and everyone was proud of him.

Well, they can be used in sentences, and besides, that’s why you take these quizzes, to learn!

Being used in a sentence does not automatically make a symbol a mark of punctuation or else all symbols denoting currency, for example, would be punctuation.

Asterisks and ampersands are debatable. Unicode considers them punctuation but most language references consider them symbols.

I’d say asterisk is punctuation, not so sure about the ‘and’ symbol.

Both "Cold" and "2019" can be considered nouns in certain contexts. For example:

- The cold was difficult to ignore.

- 2019 was the calm before the storm.

Agree, and 2019 is more likely to be a noun except in a context like the 2019th something.

Cold is a noun. You can have a cold so that is a thing. They should not have put a word with multiple meanings in the quiz

Fast and Nice can both be nouns.

Fast: A period of not eating "to go on a fast"

Nice: A proper noun, place in France.

Not sure I agree * is punctuation as it does not punctuate sentences. That is to say, it is not needed to support how a sentence is said or understood. And - looked more like a minus sign than a hyphen or dash, with the latter often being much longer, so appeared to be a red herring. I would suggest this is removed.
