Not a bad time! For those looking for slightly more of a challenge, try this 30 second version! The average is only 16, let me know if you are able to beat that!
This quiz should accept Czechia for Czech Republic like most others already do. I believe that became their official shortened name back in April. It's basically the same thing the Slovak Republic did with the name Slovakia, but it's less well-known because the change was so recent and quiet.
Whoa, got them all with 16 seconds to spare on my first time. But okay, let's be fair, I live in Europe and I've taken the Countries of the World quiz like waaaayyy to many times...
Has anyone ever tried googling Europe or Asia? Or looked it up on Wikipedia? There's even an article about Continental borders. Russia is always counted as part of Europe while Turkey and Cyprus aren't. When I had to learn the countries of Europe in school that's the way I learned it as well. People once decided those borders. There are century-old maps that show the exact outline known today.
Did it ever occur to you that the reason Russia was considered part of Europe back then was because most of the nations the USSR usurped were in Europe?
If 25% of the area is in Europe, that means 75% is in Asia. And since this quiz is about geography, I don't really think the population bit matters that much. Anyway, I'm not asking or expecting you to change it, just expressing my annoyance at the standard way it's classified, since it's very counterintuitive to me.
First time, missed everything but Yugoslavia and Liechtenstein. Second time started with Yugoslavia and then micro-states and went on to get everything with ease.
I lost massive time because I typed Turkey...which last time I looked was a European country...and then kept typing others not realizing Turkey hadn't been accepted. Not cool.
Spent several tries trying to spell Cyprus only to realize that I'm spelling it right and remembering that this site is ornery about it being in Asia. Quizmaster, you know who thinks Cyprus is Asian? Belgium. That's who. So tired of you always toeing the line out of Brussels. I bet you also eat French Fries and pizza with a fork, you Leopold loving anti-Cyrprite.
Hey now... I'm Belgian and Cyprus can be wherever it wants to be for all I care. And I've asked around, fellow countrymen and - women agree with me: If Cyprus wants to be in Asia, it can be; if it wants to be in Europe, that is fine by us as well. It can even be in Africa for all we care.
And it's Belgian fries. The other ones are just greasy, wrongly fried pieces of potato.
@QM believes that Belgium is responsible for all the world's problems. He has put it as number one in a list of greatest enemies of the USA. In response to a quiz about irreligious countries he commented: 'Elgium °_°. Except - it isn't serious. It's a response to unfair bigotry against the USA.
no because I don't see what the point of copying the same quiz over and over again with different time limits is. Did this on my first try. But I already did the countries of Europe quiz so seems pointless. If you really want to improve your typing speed you can take the original quiz and press "give up" whenever you hit your time limit.
I couldn't help but notice you are at level 62. I would think after, I'm guessing, 4-5 years of taking geography quizzes, you would have developed at least some muscle memory. It was difficult for me, too. But I got it on my 6th try. I got 44 two times.
Y'all type WAY faster than I do (I blame arthritis in the thumbs). But once you type Grance instead of France and don't look up from the keyboard until the answer space is overflowing, well, you're just not going to recover from that!
why is switzerland 50% ??? who is taking the time to first of all type out the long name and second of all it's kind of hard typing it on a regular qwerty keyboard because a lot of letters are in hard to reach spaces on the keyboard.
Who needs time when you got untime
Czech republic tripped me up too, but I finally got it!
PRC (China)
ROC (Taiwan)
DPRK (North Korea)
ROK (South Korea)
FYROM (Macedonia)
Second try: 29
Third try: 28
Ill just stop doing this
I'm a slow typer.
*facepalms*
I missed Bulgaria, Hungary and Kosovo.
In my anxiety due to time passing, my fingers miswrote many countries, otherwise I would have had more time to reach the maximum score! :'(
And it's Belgian fries. The other ones are just greasy, wrongly fried pieces of potato.
All hail Leo. Face.
