Wouldn't the most easterly point in Russia be 180°00' E (or to be more exact, 179° 59.999999' E)?

But where do you stop? If you continue going east you'll eventually end up at turkey and hence turkey is east of russia and so on. The line hould be drawn at 180E.

Icould of sworn malaysia was further east than mongolia and thought this looked wrong, and checking wikipedia malaysia goes further east than 104 degree found out from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_extreme_points_of_Malaysia East Near Kampong Look Sembuang in Lahad Datu Sabah Sulu Sea 5°14′27″N 119°16′00″E so while i was further east than monglia, it is furhter east than the 104 degrees It is suprisingly close between the 2!

And I thought I made it clear by saying "on Borneo". Peninsular Malaysia is about 104. As GK says, Mongolia & Malaysia both 119.something, with Mongolia just shading it

Why would you put a war time Japanese flag on the feature quiz? This is extremely offensive. You wouldn't put a Nazi flag for a quiz on Germany would you?

Nov 25, 2016
Oh no, a flag about the naval flag of the Japanese Empire is now offensive. That's new. You do know that this isn't the first time that the flag has been used in a featured quiz, right? So why complain now. Also, comparing the swastika that's banned in Germany to a "sun" that's still in use in Japan is quite ridiculous.

Holocaust denial is a crime in Germany while Japan is still in denial of its war atrocities such as the Nanking massacre, comfort women, torturing POW etc. So of course the rising sun flag is still in use in Japan but doesn't mean it is acceptable.

Why isn't the US in denial for their atrocities in killing the native americans or for putting the Japanese in concentration camps, especially when almost 60% of the Japanese in the concentration camps were US citizens. Why is it that the countries who win wars don't get charged for war crimes, yet the losing countries do?

I changed the flag to a different one. I think people take offense too easily, but if it bothers some people its not hard to use a different thumbnail.

QM is right, most people are offended by very stupid things. There are articles about this, like this one.

@Triviamaster2 - because Americans admit that what their ancestors did to native Americans/Japanese-US citizens during WW2 was horrible. Besides, if you think that how America treated Japanese-US citizens wasn't even a fraction of a fraction as bad as what the Japanese were doing to people all over East/South East Asia - and yet they still refuse to face large amounts of the horrible things they did.

No he doesn't. He's comparing a swastika flag that's banned in Germany to a sun that's still in use in commercials and as a symbol of tradition and good luck in Japan. Let that sink in.

@TriviaMaster2. The Japanese Americans in concentration camps were not treated close to as badly as the Germans treated people in concentration camps, and they only put them there because they felt they had to for national security, not because they hated them and wanted them to die. America has done some bad things, but all bad things are not equal

Obviously it's in both. If we are forced to choose one, we choose Europe because that's where the majority of the population lives. However on quizzes like this we are not forced to choose one. This policy is consistent on all our featured quizzes.
