Like so many great things, the idea becomes repugnant when honours and awards go to the wrong people. The US army received 31 Medals of Honour for its work in the Pine Ridge Campaign in South Dakota in 1890. 19 of them for their zeal at Wounded Knee. Politicians receiving monetary prizes for making or maintaining peace is a sickening idea to me. I mean... that's their job.That's what they are getting f***ing paid for, isn't it?
