Freshwater Fish

I love buffalo fish ribs, but there is a warning now about eating buffalo fish - people have gotten Haff's Disease from it - it causes rhabdomyolysis within 24 hours of eating the fish. It is rare, but it's happening and being traced directly back to eating buffalo fish, although no one yet knows why some of the fish produce the toxin. (Fish consumption of poisonous water hemlock is one theory.) Cooking does not inactivate it. I won't feed buffalo fish to my family anymore.
