Can you name the top 15 battles of the U.S. Civil War ranked by total estimated casualties? The war remains the costliest conflict of American lives in history. The hint is the estimated number of casualties for both sides and date of the battle.
“Casualties” are not just men who died. It includes killed, wounded and captured or missing from both sides.
Two battles are over 70% captured for casualties since the battles involved the capture of garrisons.
