Before you comment on the quiz, please look at there source I linked. There was no mistake on my part. JetPunk has categorized Xiamen as a megacity for as long as I’ve been on this website.

In which alternate universe does gangzhou have 65.000.000 people? It was allegedly 45.000.000 just some months ago according to Jetpunk. Seriously where do they come up

with these numbers.

I get that it’s kinda crazy, but I think it basically counts all of the Pearl River delta. It is really just a sprawling megalopolis. I saw a comment from QM awhile back that citypopulation.de drastically underestimated the population of many Chinese urban areas until just this year.

Per my source, these are the major cities included in Guangzhou: Northern Pearl River Delta; incl. Dōngguān, Fóshān, Huìzhōu, Jiāngmén, Shēnzhèn, Zhōngshān.
