"It's not about the perfect meal at a three-Michelin star restaurant: It's about how a dish tastes, its cultural significance and the importance of the location where it's made and eaten."

I can't believe they gave sushi top billing in Japan over ramen. I mean, both are great tasting and culturally important, but really? I (anecdotally, as a Westerner) hear Japanese people mention ramen way more often, it's the more "complete" meal, and ramen shops are everywhere! I think it should at least share the spot with sushi... Maybe Lonely Planet just really likes the sushi conveyor belts.
