Interesting Quiz! Note that it should probably say European-- Japan, the Qing, the Cholas, Oman, and many others set up colonies but aren't included here (I realize that the US isn't European though). Also, you may want to accept Kurland, which was another spelling for Courland.

The Philippines is misspelled here by the way. Also, the Russian outpost in Djibouti wasn't really ever recognised and only existed for a month https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Djibouti

thank you! i'll fix the phillepines and courland.

for djibouti though, i chose to stretch the definition of ''colony'' to make a more interesting quiz.

i am not sure what to do with the ''european'' part yet, but i'll think abt it.
