Name Giuseppe Verdi’s Operas

Giuseppe Verdi (1813-1901) composed twenty-six operas, not including revisions. How many can you name in eight minutes?

To ease your typing burden, allowing you time to rack your brain, please note the following.

You can score a hit using any single keyword in the Italian title, the standard English translation of the Italian title, or the title of a translation/revision that was performed during Verdi’s lifetime. Keywords are nouns (including names) and adjectives.

For example, suppose Verdi had composed an opera that premiered at La Scala as «L'anguria schiacciata» (“The Smashed Watermelon”). Suppose further that he later revised and translated the opera for Paris, calling it «Quelle pagaille !» (“What a Mess!”). Typing any one of the following keywords will score a correct answer:

- anguria
- schiacciata
- smashed
- watermelon
- pagaille
- mess
