Ghost
A waist pack or load-bearing vest used to carry pods, and sometimes an air tank or extra gear.

Harness
A bunker or other area in which multiple friendly players have gathered in close quarters while being attacked by a much larger opposing group.

Hellhole
A container in which loose paintballs are held before falling into the breech of the marker.

Hopper
A player who shoots excessive amounts of paint.

A paintball “gun.”

Marker
A shot that hits another player in the front of the mask.

Mug shot
To continue firing at a player after they have indicated that they are eliminated.

Overshoot
A round capsule containing non-toxic, biodegradable, water-soluble paint.

Paintball
A plastic tube with a snap-closed lid that carries extra paintballs while on the field to refill the hopper.

Pod
The final player against a significant number of opposing players.

Renegade
A quickly-fired line of paintballs.

Rope
A container that holds the gas that powers a paintball “gun.”

Tank
Using two or more fingers to rapidly drum the trigger, resulting in a higher rate of fire than normal trigger pulling can achieve.
W
Walking the trigger
To cheat by removing evidence of a hit before a referee identifies you as being eliminated.

Wipe
Slang for “referee.”
