I have to question the source --- Moldova, Russia, Poland, Slovakia, Finland, Belarus, Romania, etc all absent. A list of highest alcohol consumption is usually a list of Eastern European countries.
That's rather a stereotype (but kinda true), but consider we Eastern Europeans like spirits which have much higher % alcohol than beers etc., so unit consumption there may be higher, but not necessarily overall consumption. Also, a list like this is an index of alcohol sales, hence some answers are small obscure countries where alcohol is cheaper so denizens of neighbouring countries like to flock there and shamelessly buy in bulk (-: Nice quiz.
