I do want to point that the Rus' can barely even be considered an unified state by the end of its existence. This quiz includes the borders of all the different principalities that made up the entire state at the time.

Previously among the most prominent cities in Eastern Europe. The Mongol invasion basically ended any significance for the city and didn't recover its population until the 19th century.
