Grand fun! I wonder who named Bird's head?

I'm not sure who named it, but it refers to the northeastern end of the island of New Guinea, which is often called the Bird's Head for reasons that become obvious upon looking at it.

What's the source for this? I did plate tectonics for my career, but haven't heard of a number of these.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bf/Tectonic_plates_boundaries_detailed-en.svg It's a little bit of guesswork as to what minor plates to include, so I sourced a bunch of other material as well, but this was my starting point.

One of the more impressive quizzes. Well done. Just when you think you don't know anything, you take a quiz like this and realize you know even less.

This is a cool quiz. Also I've learnt my city is closer to a major faultline than I realised. Although I should have known.

'Burmese' didn't work for the 'Burma' tectonic plate. But then again, it was just a guess, so I don't feel I deserve that one anyway.

Interesting how australia's one, looks just like a stretched australia (I know so does africa, but that is less interesting to me, I guess because I was already aware of that)
