But considér accepting Chandannagar for Kolkata (because Kolkata was never a French Colony but only the town of Chandannagar was) and Vishakhapatnam and Vizag for Visakhapatnam.
And Surat, Dhaka, Balasore and Kassimbazar were also big French establishment in India.
French in India
Use class "zoomable-circle" so the dots don't grow when you zoom the map.And yes: why list Versailles rather than Strasbourg, Lille, Toulouse, Toulon, Dijon, Montpellier, etc.? This is a consequence of...The quiz is called "Biggest Cities in the French Colonial Empire on a Map", but the majority of cities are in the "Other Cities" category. Seems like it's just a "Notable Cities in the French Colonial Empire" quiz. Also, citypopulation.en doesn't seem to be a thing. I assume you meant citypopulation.de.Also, you appear to be using metro population for some cities and city proper for others. St. John's does have a city population of about 104k, but the metro population (according to citypopulation.de) is 214k.
A time-tested concept poorly executed.
"its cp.de and not cp.en" at this point, you are just nitpicking to try and strengthen your case. Stop complaining, it was a really good quiz.
Also you seem to forget - you didn't have to take this quiz. If you didn't like it, then why would you take the quiz in the first place?
The point of a source is to be able to check it. .en vs .de matters for that purpose. Correcting a source citation is never nitpicking, unless there are killer nits in your part of the world.
However the way I'd imagine it would be to draw the exact borders of their empires, putting in zoomable circle, etc. Your complaints are valid and I wasn't honestly expecting this to be spotlighted XD
Whoever spotlighted it thanks so much (and all of my other quizzes). I haven't even gotten a single spotlight opportunity yet LOL
Just a detail: could you accept Tourane for Da Nang and Fort-Bayard for Zhanjiang, please?
