Top Ten North American Subnational Flags

Thanks for your comment! I've edited the title of the quiz and added some more clarifying information in the description. Here is a quote from one of the survey's creators: "Casting our net wide, we asked respondents to rate 72 different flags, representing states of the U.S. and provinces of Canada, as well as some current and former territories." I recognize the District of Columbia is not state, and the quote above doesn't clarify why the Marshall Islands were included, but I did not make the survey; I just put the top ten flags into a quiz. The five inhabited U.S. insular areas were included, as well as Micronesia and the Marshall Islands (Palau, the third independent state in free association with the U.S., was not). Again, thanks for the comment. I hope the changes I've made are helpful.

It polled NAVA members and the public. Given that more than half of US state flags are of the seal-on-a-bedsheet variety, I find it unsurprising that distinctive flags like Maryland and DC are well-liked. Perhaps lots of Texans voted in favor of their flag.

I had set the type-in for District of Columbia to accept anything that contained DC, so it must've taken your answer from the d in 'and' and the first c in 'caicos.' I've fixed it so thanks for your creative guessing!
