How is Kansas City not the largest metro area in Kansas? Even taking out the Missouri-side cities, KCKS, Overland Park and Olathe alone dwarf Wichita, let alone the other suburbs in Johnson County.

Thanks, you're right - the Kansas portion of Kansas City is indeed bigger than Wichita (637,000).

But i always learned that columbus is the biggest in ohio and jacksonville in florida. I also thought that kansas city was in misouri. grtz

Maybe you aren't going by metropolitan area? Kansas City straddles both states (each side of this Kansas City street is in a different state)
