It would be beneficial if some shorter answers could be accpeted (for example, british invasion instead of writing the full name ''the british invasion''. or just beatles, instead of the beatles), I think most jetpunkers are used to this :)

There is a lot of debate on the first rock n roll song. Rocket 88 by Jackie Brenston, Maybelline by Chuck Berry and That's Alright by Elvis, all have their supporters. Also Queen of Rock n Roll isn't undisputed either, I've heard it used of Janis Joplin, Wanda Jackson, Grace Slick and Tina Turner.

Also the Alanis M. clue is confusing. I'd say "She sang" instead of "singing"; the way you wrote it makes it sound like you are looking for a term that defines the singing of songs about anger..., changing how it is written might make it more clear that the answer is a singer's name.
