Do you want to easily visualize the results by political parties of the second rounds of the French elections, since 1965?
Only direct elections, so under the Fifth Republic, after 1962. Accordind to the Conseil Constitutionnel.

That's because you think as an American. In France, we have two turns. This year, for the very first time, it was not a right/left or right/right second round, but a right/far right one. So literally all the loosing candidates at the first round called their electors to vote against far right. As a result of this situation, Jean-Marie Le Pen got almost as any votes at the first and at the second rounds. So no, it was not a good year for the right side, just a bad one for democracy.
